2020 Speaker Series continues with Bob Bourne and “Street Railways in Ames 1890-1929”

Transit Consultant and Noted Railroad Historian Bob Bourne will present a free program called Street Railways in Ames – 1890-1929 – Saturday February 15th, 2020 at 2 pm at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum and History Center at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad. The railroad is located at 225 10th St in Boone, Iowa.

This program will touch on with many visuals the Ames Dinkey as well as the Fort Dodge, Des Moines and Southern Railroad with previously unknown additional information.

There were two streetcar railways in Ames. The Ames and College Railway which ran from 1891 to 1907 and the Fort Dodge Line which ran from 1907 to 1929. In addition, we will have time to discuss the third railway that was never built.
