2009 and 2010 Preservation Projects

  • Our Southern Pacific dining car was in the shop for some repairs and upgrades. The car received new paint, a recoated roof, door and step repairs, and an upgraded restroom.
  • CNW 8646, an ex-Railway Express car turned into a maintenance car by the Chicago and Northwestern in the 1960’s, made its way into the shop. The car received a major restoration, and emerged from the shop as a concession car for use on our Fraser Trains.
  • Our steam locomotive, JS-8419, underwent its normal off season inspections and repairs.
  • Work was also performed on our ALCO S-2 diesel locomotive, 1098.
