#ThrowbackThursday for 2/27/25

In late 1983, the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad operated its first passenger trains. Passengers purchased tickets and trinkets from a Quonset hut, and boarded the trains on a gravel lot located at 11th and Division in Boone.

In 1985, our organization took a major step forward when the construction of our current depot was completed.

Over the years, the depot has undergone renovations and additions, and the 9,000-square-foot James H. Andrew Railroad Museum was also constructed. On this #ThrowbackThursday, we look at the evolution of the headquarters of the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad.
